Alongside the standard RCA (Recrystalised Alumina) range of products here at Multi-Lab, we also offer high temperature zirconia for use up to 2200 Deg C.

ZrO2 (zirconia) has excellent chemical inertness and corrosion resistance at temperatures well above the melting point of alumina.                                                                                            Multi-Labs material is fully stabilized in the cubic crystal structure to avoid cracking and mechanical deterioration during thermal cycling.

Zr)2 also has low TC (thermal conductivity) but it also pays to be aware that it can become electrically conductive at around 800 Deg C.

Zirconia is often more useful in its phase ‘stabilized’ state. Upon heating, zirconia undergoes disruptive phase changes. By adding small percentages of yttria, these phase changes are eliminated, and the resulting material has superior thermal, mechanical, and electrical properties well suited for engineering applications
