Multi-Sil has become a firm product name to Multi-Lab customers throughout the world. As a slip cast pure advanced material, it has applications which reach into most areas of industry.

The life of a slip cast component is variable being dependent on the the conditions of use and the operating temperature. An indefinite life will be obtained under normal conditions up to a temperature of 1050°C, however Multi-sil products are in regular use with operating cycles from ambient to 1300°C, but with reduced life.

At these elevated temperatures, life may be extended by ensuring that items are never cooled below 800°C. Silica is an excellent material for use in all appliances requiring high insulation, excellent thermal shock and resistance to thermal expansion. Expansion average 0-1000°C 0.54x10-6 per °C.
