OM 100 is a high purity opaque quartz glass developed by Heraeus.
The innovative, proprietary production process results in a material-specific micro porosity that makes OM 100 much superior to other opaque quartz glass on the market.
Efficient thermal shielding and energy dissipation are due to the excellent scattering of incident radiation from the fine pores, giving the material a brilliant white appearance.
Whereas the larger bubbles distributed within other opaque quartz glasses tend to burst during heat treatment – causing an orange peel effect on the surface – OM 100 allows a much smoother surface finish, better sealing capability, higher etch resistance, and longer lifetimes.
The higher density makes this material the right choice for any combination with transparent quartz glass.
The near-net-shape production concept provides tailored solutions and high cost efficiency.
